Newport Community | Prestige Plumbing Establishes Itself
In 1985 LeFrak, a preeminent, family-owned property company, purchased 600 acres of desolate waterfront property in Jersey City. They spent the next few decades transforming this property into an upscale residential and commercial community – Newport was born.
When the need arose to replace the defective existing hot water heaters in the high- end, 450 unit Atlantic building at Newport, Prestige stood out as the obvious choice to completethe project.
The decision was made to install five new 500k BTU, one hundred and thirty gallon PVI units to service the building. With hundreds of residents living in the building, the project had to be planned and managed meticulously.
Prestige Plumbing worked with Newport’s engineers to phase the project including the demo of the existing defective hot water heaters and installation of the new PVI’s – working at night when necessary to ensure minimal downtime and prevent any inconvenience to residents.
Installation of the five new PVI units along with new supply and return piping and new circulator pumps was completed in August of 2018. Newport management was so impressed with Prestige staff’s wide breadth of plumbing knowledge, scrupulous project management, and responsiveness, that Prestige continues to work with Newport and LeFrak on other projects within Newport as well other sites, establishing themselves as the plumber of choice for the community.
